Not losing weight even you're on Diet and Workout?

Personally, I am a late bloomer. I did not care much about my body. When I was overweight, I thought it was okay as long as I am feeling good about my body. However, self-love is important. As I age, I realized that having healthy and fit body is a must. If you're confident with your body size, that is totally OK. But here's my tips if you are having trouble losing weight even you are doing your best to do workouts and proper diet.

These factors that you might consider to lose weight even you do workout and proper diet:

  1. Sleep

Sleep is very important but there are times it's being neglected due to many reasons. That's how our body replenish and revitalizes. Food and supplements are not enough. Thus, sleep is important too. Also, the time and amount of sleep should be taken . Be sure to sleep not later than 10 PM. Sleeping at least 8 hours is necessary too. I know this cannot be applied especially if you're working night shifts and some other matters. Of course, do not neglect your sleep. It's very important.

     2. Diet

Crash diet did not work for me. If losing your weight is your goal for your diet, make sure that the diet would be consistent and sustainable even you have shred the weight you wanna lose. Example, in my 3rd days of crush diet, I felt my body needs more calories and nutrients for me so on the 4th day of diet, I crushed the diet by eating more food. See? I was not able to sustain and be consistent on my diet. The secret to the right diet is choose what you think is healthy, sustain and be consistent to it. Now, I just eat food with less oil, less salt and less sweet.

  1.  Workout Duration and Intervals

Don't rush. There is no short cut on losing weight. If you have to begin 5-10 minutes a day of workout, then do so. Then just add more minutes and intensity if you think your workout doesn't help you burn enough calories. Intervals for me is the length of your break when you complete one set of workout. Others workout at morning and night time. Others workout on mornings while others do on nights. As for me, I only workout 2 hours daily but I do take rest days every after 2 or 3 days of workouts.

  1. Rest days

Rest days is also necessary to make your body especially your muscles relax and replenish its energy. Rest days also relieve the body from stress.
  1. Body mass

Too concern about the weight we gain every time we check our weight in the weighing scale? Water and food we ate add our weight so make sure you check your weight in the morning before you drink water and eat food. But for me, I stopped checking my weight a long time ago because it really stressed me when I lost 1 kg then added another weight like 2 kg and lose then add again. Now I focus on living healthy. I notice my body and health improves even I don't check my weight. What is important is how healthy we feel to ourselves by doing healthy habits.

  1. Amount of Stress and stressors

Stress can cause weight gain as it can lead to poor eating habits. When stress hormone cortisol is released in our blood stream, it gives us energy to escape from risky situation. Our body tends to crave for more sugar as we have consumed sugar. If we eat more sugar, we gain more weight. We tend to overeat. Cortisol also slows down metabolism which makes us difficult to lose weight. In short, a stress can make us gain weight. If thinking of doing exercise, having crash diet, or doing HIIT makes you feel stressed, then don't do it. You would want to check yourself first if you're truly ready and willing to lose weight. You want to lose weight not because others tell you to. You want to lose weight because you, yourself really want to.

7. Water

Make sure you're drinking enough water every day. Drink a glass of water before your first meal. It will help you assist in better digestion. According to the studies, 1 to 2 liters of water per day may help us losing weight. Do not drink too much water at night. I drink 1 glass of water before bed and that's it. As much as possible, avoid drinking soft drinks and hard drinks as they will add more sugar to your body. A small amount of sugar will not make you add fat but a lot of it will make you gain excess fat more drastically and faster.
