2022 Realizations I want to share with you
1. Goals are not always achieved
There are reasons why. Some of these are external factors while some are internal. External factors are the peers, people around you, could be the weather, jobs, studies and other duties that you have to attend to. Internal factors are your schedule, health, time, availability and sometimes the procrastination itself.
These are not excuses but circumstances that you can and cannot control. The thing is, if you still want to achieve your goals. Year 2023 is here now. Claim it.
2. There are no bad friends
Simply, if you think you have bad friends then they are not real friends. They are fake people. If you have to stay away from them or block them for you to have peace of mind, then do it. You don't owe anything from these kind of people. Be with a good company of people that will help you grow and hopefully succeed.
3. Money makes people happy
Other people will say that money will not make you happy. For me, it does. Without money, you cannot go anywhere away, you cannot buy things, you cannot treat (buy for others) other people food or services. Money makes people happy but it is not everything. It is really good to have a regular source of income, other you're employed, self-employed or freelancer.
4. Social media take away your time and happiness
While browsing social media, you see other people, relatives, friends, etc. that show how "perfect" and "great" their lives. It makes you wonder "why" - why don't I do the same, why can't I travel like them, why do they have good face and body. And all these "why's" eat your contentment too that makes you feel jealous or envy. These things are not even good. For me, comparing yourself to other people is not a good way to improve your life. Comparing yourself to what you were yesterday is better. You don't have to compete with anyone else. You are great as you are and you grow to become better for yourself and not for other people.
5. Choose your happiness and peace of mind
There were things, people and situations that challenged me. Until I realized I don't need to react on everything that's happening around me. Reacting to each thing causes stress, anxiety and probably depression. I learned that there is no one who can protect my happiness and peace of mind but myself. I learned to choose what is right and what makes me happy. I learned to forget and forgive to have a peace of mind.
We're blessed if we have the great family, good company of people, true friends and acquaintances that lift us up and who don't make us feel insecure.
Cheers to 2023!
